In the early 2000s, Denver-based funk trio Uncut joined forces with the legendary Richard "Kush" Griffith (James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, Maceo Parker) for a series of live performances. During this time, the band backed Kush on what was to be his final album, "Kush and His Blues Meet Funk Mediocre". Many of the eclectic tracks that appear here originated as outtakes from these sessions; others were based on garage recordings from around this time. Rounding out the selections are newer instrumental recordings from LongPlaya Productions, the outfit formed by the former members of Uncut and Denver composer and performer Charles Robert Buchanan.
